How to I set up an appointment to consign with Stella+Jack?
Just fill out the information to
Become A Client, and set up an appointment online. We’ll do our best to pick up your items as soon as possible, and at your convenience. You'll receive a confirmation email regarding your appointment date and approximate time.
What brands do you accept for consignment?
We’re happy to pick up all of the clothing items that you no longer wish to keep. However, we prefer to sell mid to high-end clothing items in good condition rather than brands sold through big box retailers (e.g. Carters®) because those items tend to lose value quickly. For the items we choose not to sell, you can either pick up (upon request), or they will be donated to charity. Clothing from Baby Gap and Mini Boden to boutique items such as Flora and Henri and Catimini sell extremely well. Of course, we all have our favorites. We love designer duds and appreciate all things French! We realize that there are other avenues for consignment, but we hope you think of Stella+Jack for the clothes you no longer need. What items do you accept besides clothing & shoes?
Stella+Jack is now accepting children's gear! High-end strollers, bedding, child carrier/backpacks, skis, infant carriers, moses baskets and more! For these items (over $50), you'll receive
60% of the sales price in cash or credit.

We are also looking for lead-free wooden toys and accessories in great condition. You’ll receive
50% of the sales price for these non-apparel items in cash or credit. If there are other items you want to tell us about that we could sell for you, let us know
via email. Please note that we take safety for our children seriously, so we cannot accept car seats.
How do I prepare my items for pickup?
Please make sure all your items are cleaned
(i.e. washed) and stains are removed. Simply place them in a bag and schedule a pickup. If you will not be home during pickup, please make sure your bags are labeled Stella+Jack and placed outside your front door. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL YOUR BAGS ARE LABELED WITH YOUR FIRST and LAST NAME.
When will you post the items I've consigned with Stella+Jack to your site?
Depending on the season, items typically post for sale
within approximately 14 days of receiving your inventory receipt
. We will typically post most items to our site based on seasonality. Exceptions are made depending on levels of inventory.
For example:
Fall: Aug 1 – Oct 15
Winter: Oct 1 – Jan 30
Spring: Feb 1 – April 1
Summer: March 15 – July 31
However, we’re happy to accept items at any time, and keep them in our inventory until the need arises.
How long will the items be posted on your site?
Items will remain on sale for at least 45 days and possibly up to 2 seasons. Items can discounted to make room for more inventory. If an item doesn’t sell, but could be recycled back in for future seasons, we’ll make every effort to do so.
How long will my account be active?
Your account remains active as long as you use it. It's best to check our site frequently to see what items have sold and view your credits. After one year of inactivity, your account will be closed.
What happens to the items that don’t sell?
If an item doesn’t sell after we’ve discounted it, we’ll donate it to the local charity, Wellspring-Family Services. Donations will be made once a month. Items valued over $35 can be picked up if specified at time of initial consignment. Please be assured that we always do everything we can to sell these special little items before they are removed from the site.
How long will it take to get a check for my items that sell?
We follow the traditional consignment process which works like this: We market and sell your items for you. Once they sell, we take a percentage of sale and give you the rest (30% cash, 50% credit). For items that sell by the last day of the month, checks can be written on or around the 15th of the following month, in order to accommodate potential returns. If you wish to receive a check instead of using your credit, please email us at
info@stellaplusjack.com. Checks are issued when your sold items reach $25.
When will a “credit” show up on my account? How can I use my credit?
Credits are automatically issued after your sold item is processed - in real time. You can login at anytime to view your credits at
CLIENT LOGIN. Once logged in, you will have the option to apply your credits to your purchase at check out. If you have any questions, please email us at

I live out of state but would like to consign with Stella+Jack. Do you accept out of state clients and how would this work?
We’d love to accept out of state clients! Since we clearly can’t offer non-local clients the complimentary pickup service, we’d like to offer a different perk. In addition to a 50% split (for out of town consignors only), simply ship your items to us and we’ll offer you a credit to help off-set the cost of shipping. Please see our Out-of-State Consignment Policy for credit details. We’ve found USPS flat rate box system or USPS parcel post with added delivery confirmation (usps.com) to be the most economical way to ship but feel free to use what’s most convenient for you. Please keep in mind, since we don’t accept items typically sold at big box retailers, its probably best to save that box of Carters®onesies for your local consignment store, even if they are cute. As tempting as it may be, we try very hard to keep our offerings to those items simply too cute to resist, made so well they can survive another child or just too pricey to purchase at your typical retailer. Please note that we cannot return ship to out-of-state clients so all unsold items will be donated to charity.
What if Stella+Jack doesn’t accept any of my clothing?
For our local clients, we’re happy to set up a time for you to pick up your clothing that we don't accept (upon request) OR we will gladly donate the items to the local charity, Wellspring-Family Services. We love that you want to do business with us, so we’ll give you a discount on a future purchase from our site for investing your time and effort in Stella+Jack.
What if I don’t want cash or a credit for my clothing? I just want to get these amazing little clothes to a good home?
Stella+Jack will sell the clothes for you, donate the ENTIRE proceeds to a charity of your choosing, in your name! It's a great way to recycle AND give back!

Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free shipping over $50 every day! No code to remember. We're moms too and have enough on our plate, so we offer free shipping on any domestic order over $50.00 (pre-tax). It's automatically deducted at checkout!
Can I return an item if it isn't quite right?
Unlike a typical consignment shop, if your item doesn't fit, you don't like it, or if it's the wrong color pink, you can return it. We only ask that you send it back within 5 days of receipt, so that we can credit the consignor accordingly. Once you send back your items, we'll provide a full refund or credit adjustment as necessary (however, we don't credit back shipping costs). Personalized items, such as jewelry, cannot be returned.
How do I know an item is true to size?
We all know that different brands fit our children differently, so we specify the sizing that is given on the tag... however, we base our 'true-to-size' on Ralph Lauren sizing, so if we come across an item that doesn't follow those guidelines, we'll specify in the item description. Feel free to contact us if you want a specific measurement!

How do I know about the condition of these items?We carefully hand select each item to avoid selling anything too worn, but not all items are in the exact same condition so we've created a rating system:
4 stars: Brand spankin' new with tags or in original packaging
3 stars: Nearly new, in tip-top shape
2 stars: Gently worn, but your kids will love it
1 star: Needs a little love, but simply couldn't resist
*Additional .5: somewhere in between
Should I really buy an item based simply on these photos?
Of course! We describe each item per years of retail experience and of course our mom's critical eye, and we now take both straight-on and close-up photos (& back of item if we feel there's anything there to share) but if you're unsure about anything, feel free to contact us any day, any time with questions (What is faux-crystal? Is the item faded or does it just have that vintage-look? Do you have any raincoats that aren't yet on your website?). Guess what?
If you're not satisfied, you can return it!
What if I'm looking for an off-season item that I don't see on your site? Is everything featured all the time?
We don't always feature off-season items so if you don't see that special something you're looking for, please email us so we can check our inventory. If you let us know what you're looking for, we'll even keep our eye out and notify you when that special something comes in!
Can you make purchases from StellaplusJack.com if you are not a client? What exactly is a client?
You bet! Stella+Jack is not an exclusive shopping site so anyone can shop. The more visitors we have, the better, so feel free to spread the word. Clients are those who SELL their items on our site. And the more clients we have, the more shopping we can do!
